True Love

True love is something we all desire to have in life. However, love today can simply be perceived as just a romantic relationship. When we as humans are not in a romantic relationship with a partner, we feel lonely at times and feel that our life is not as good as it could be. Just because the world may perceive love this way does not mean that it is true. Love is surrounding us CONSTANTLY at all times.

Love is not just romantic but it is care, patience, passion, hope, faith, and trust. One of the most popular bible verses on love is 1 Corinthians 13:4-5. It says,"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no records of wrongs." Wow. That is love. That means that we can be genuinely fulfilled and content with the amount of love in our lives because based on those characteristics, love is not just "romantic." We all KNOW love is not just romantic but sadly, we don't LIVE like it.

The pure essence of LOVE is shown when a friend is there for another friend when they are facing trials, you have a family gathering where your whole family laughs and enjoys each others company, or someone goes out of their way to tell you how much they mean to you. Love is SO much deeper and so much more GENUINE than we make it. In fact, there is such an overwhelming amount of love sometimes that it is hard for us to comprehend it all. Going back to the romantic relationship topic, it actually allows us to receive MORE love when we are not in a romantic relationship in some cases.

God blesses us at different times of our life with different kinds of love and often, when we are single it often allows us to see God working in our life's more because we are not worried about the needs of our partner. I am not saying romantic relationships are bad. They are made to join two people together and be a team and it IS an amazing thing. However, if you are not in a relationship and that is why you do not feel fulfilled with your life, OPEN YOUR EYES and look at all the genuine out-pouring love around you and give that love to others too. Because true love is flooding from every corner of your life.
